Bubble hash (also known as ice water hash or water hash) is a highly potent and pure solventless cannabis concentrate made by separating trichomes from the plant material using ice, water, and filtration bags. It is named for its ability to bubble and melt when heated, with premium, high-purity grades often referred to as “full melt”.
Key Aspects of Bubble Hash:
  • Method: It uses cold water to freeze and break off trichomes (resin glands) from the plant material, which are then collected through progressively finer mesh screens, known as “bubble bags”.
  • Potency: Bubble hash typically contains 30-60% THC, but top-tier “full melt” can sometimes be higher.
  • Quality Grading (1-6 Star System):
    • 5-6 Stars (Full Melt): Highest quality, melts completely into an oily liquid with almost no residue.
    • 3-4 Stars (Half Melt): Partially melts; good for smoking or pressing into rosin.
    • 1-2 Stars (Food Grade): Contains more plant material, usually used for edibles or mixing with flower.
  • Appearance & Texture: Varies from a powdery, sandy, or paste-like consistency to a sticky, waxy texture. Color ranges from light blonde/gold (high quality) to dark brown/green (lower quality).
  • Consumption: Can be smoked in a pipe/bong (often with a screen), sprinkled on flower in a joint, vaped, or dabbed (for higher grades).
Advantages:
  • Solventless: No chemical solvents (like butane) are used, making it a safer and cleaner alternative to other concentrates.
  • Terpene Preservation: The cold extraction process preserves the plant’s natural aroma and flavor profile.
  • Versatility: It can be used in various ways and is also an excellent raw material for creating premium rosin.
Differences from Other Concentrates:
  • Bubble Hash vs. Dry Sift/Kief: Bubble hash uses water to separate trichomes, whereas kief is collected by dry sifting.
  • Bubble Hash vs. BHO: BHO uses solvents like butane to extract THC, often resulting in higher potency (90%+) but lower terpene preservation compared to bubble hash.
  • Bubble Hash vs. Rosin: Rosin is created by applying heat and pressure to the hash or flower, often resulting in a more refined product.

bubble hash

Bubble hash has this cute name because it forms small bubbles when heated – which is also a way for you to gauge its quality. It is  without the use of solvents, which makes both your production process and consumption much safer.

Another Definition

This hash  a process involving ice water. Like traditional hash, this  is a solid concentration of cannabis resin glands, or trichomes. It can range in color from light blonde to dark brown. This gets its name from its tendency  when brought under a lighter’s flame.

How to make

Thus the named for the way it bubbles when smoked, refers to a specific type of hash made with ice water. To make bubble hash, cannabis flower is adds bags of ice water ( “bubble bags”) and agitate, which freezes and then breaks the resin glands from the flower. These broken resin glands, which contain essential compounds like THC and CBD, move through a series of screens while the plant material is left behind.

This hash is our favorite type of hash. We believe that in addition to being one of the safest extractions, it is a true expression of the quality of the plant
